Dave : "then, i'm off"

the day for father to leave to travel around the world had finally come, but..

Mike : "..."
Nath : "..."
Dave  : "hm? you look odd, what is it?"
Nath : "w-well.."
Mike : "i was just thinking that you wear casual clothes like that too, dad"

right now, father was in casual wear : a straw boather and an aloha shirt

Nath : (since he's always in prim and proper clothing, its really surprising...)
Linda : "i chose them. since its a long awaited trip, wont less formal clothes be more fun?"
Dave : "its the first time i've worn such clothes, but i guess they really dont suit me.."
Nath : "n-no, thats not it! they really match you, father"
Dave : "r-really?"
Nath : "yup. i was just a bit surprised since i've never seen you wearing clothes like that"
Linda : "it was terrible the first time he went to buy clothes"
Dave : "h-hey. you primised you wouldn't talk about that"
Linda : "hehe, its fine, isn't it?"
Nath : "did something happen?"
Linda : "dave  bought virtually all the clothes he picked up, so he ended up with all these strange ones"
Nath : "eh? but usually the clothes he wears are so sensible"
Mike : "..."
Dave : "that is.."

father looked away a bit awkwardly

Nath : (eh? did i ask something bad?)
Linda : "Nath, many of the clothes Dave wore were chosen by Mike's mother"
Nath : "eh? is that so?"
Linda : "in recent years, he has let robert buy them"
Nath : "i see.."
Linda : "it was really difficult trying not to laugh. when he tried to put together pattern.."
Nath : (so mike's lack of fashion sense comes from father..)

when i glanced to my side, mike had a complicated expression on his face, as if he was thinking the same thing as i was

Dave  : "is that enough? don't humiliate me any more.."

Father murmured that with his face bright red

Nath : (but father looks very gentle, maybe because of the clothes)

of course he had been gentle up until now too, but he was a person who also let other see his strictness within his gentleness

Nath : (the father i see right now might be the original..)

because he was at the top of the group, he had to throw away any indulgent feelings

Nath : (he might be able to be more like himself now that he's left the group to Mike..)

Though he still looked unwell, father seemed very happy as he smiled brightly

Linda : "Dave, you need to leave soon or you'll be late for the flight"
Dave : "oh, you're right. then we'll be leaving"
Mike : "i heard your feeling yesterday dad, but don't overdo it. mother wouldnt want you to overdo it to
           keep your promise either"
Dave : "..mike"
Mike : "on top of that, i still have many things i want you to teach me"
Dave : "you are already somebody sho can properly stand at the top of the group. there's nothing i have left
           to teach you. you should continue on your own path without being misled by others. if that ends up
           leading the jones group, i have nothing to oppose"
Mike : "dad.."
Dave : "but watch out for sam"
Nath : "eh..? uncle sam?"
Mike : "..."

i didn't know what Mike had heard. but when he heard what father said, he opened his eyes wide in surprise

Linda : "dave, it's about time.."
Dave : "i know, well, let me know when you've got a grandchild for me, okay? i'll come back right away"
Nath : "jeez! dad, you're just.."
Mike : "..."

Mike watched, lost in thought, as father got into the car

Nath : (what's wrong with Mike?)
Mike : "wait"
Linda : "mike?"
Mike : "..i leave dad to you"
Linda : "yes, please leave him to me"
Mike : "..mother"
Linda : "eh!

Mike's words surprised me, Mother, and even Father

Linda : "Mike, you.."
Mike : "that's all i wanted to say"

Mike turned around from the car and went into the estate, just as if he were saying that his work was done

Linda : "Nath, get along with Mike, okay?"
Nath  : "okay!"

I watched the two drive away. I was happy that Mike seemed to have acknowledged my mother a little

Nath : "you called her Mother"
Mike : "i haven't forgive her for betraying Dad, but.. there are two things i'm grateful for, so i thought i'd
            compromise too"
Nath : "things you're grateful to my mother for?"
Mike : "one is how she's supported Dad. it's been a long time since i've seen Dad smile like that"
Nath : "and the other?"
Mike : "..."

Mike stared at me

Mike : "you"
Nath : "eh? me?"
Mike : "yeah. she gave birth to you. Thanks to that, we were able to meet"
Nath : "..Mike"

Nath : "i'm grateful too"
Mike : ".. nath"
Nath : "since i met you, Mike, and was able to be so happy"
Mike : "..don't say something so adorable"

Mike's cheeks were red, and he mumbled that as he covered his mouth with his hand

Mike : "well. i'm going to work"
Nath : "okay, come back soon.."
Mike : "what's wrong..?"
Nath : "well, i was just wondering why father said to watch out for Uncle Sam" (he's certainly somebody i
            can't bring myself to like either, but i didn't think father would say something like that)
           "he must have a reason since he told you to watch out"
Mike : "yeah, father's perception is usually right
Nath : "..be careful"
Mike : "you too. i think it should be fine since there are more security guards, but..just in case"
Nath : "i'll be fine"
Mike : "even so, i can't help being worried"
Nath : "ah.."

Mike murmured that as he cornered me so my back was against the wall and kissed me

Nath : "t-this is the foyer.."
Mike : "there's no point in saying that now"
Nath : "j-jeez.."

Smiling teasingly, Mike left me in the estate with a red face

Nath : (what should i do? i don't have work, so i have some free time)

*ring tone

When i was thinking about what to do, i heard my phone ring

Nath     : (..Johanes?) "hello?"
Johanes : "hello? its not the time for that! why aren't you in the villa?!"
Nath     : "eh?!"
Johanes : "i'm at the villa right now but nobody's there! where are you!"
Nath     : "s-sorry! i returned home a little earlier"
Johanes : "what?! why didn't you tell me?"
Nath      : "sorry.." (he'd definitely get angry if i told him i just forgot..)
Johanes : "in any case, since it's you Nath, you'll just say you forgot"
Nath      : "..urgh"
Johanes : "just as i thought. But since you've returned to the estate, does that mean the problem's been
               resolved?"
Nath      : "..."
Johanes : "nath?"
Nath     : "no, not yet"
Johanes : "then why are you back at the estate?"
Nath      : "when i was at the villa, a strange man broke in and assaulted me.."
Johanes : "what?! w-were you all right?
Nath      : " yes. i was fine since Mike came, after that, it was decided that i'd return to the estate"
Johanes : "i'm glad that nothing happened. but i was worried, so you should have let me know"
Nath     : "sorry. My father's just decided he's going to travel the world. A lot ofthings have been
              happening..though it's no excuse-it's not like i was too busy to contact you.."
Johanes : "but it's good that you're at home. i'll come pick you up now, so could we meet for a little?"
Nath     : "eh? but.."
Johanes : "i won't give your guards the slip like i did before. even i'm not stupid enough to do something like
               that with the current circumstances"
Nath     : "..."
Johanes : "you might be thinking about that guy, but.. i don't think there's any problem with thinking about me
              every once in a while"
Nath     : "..yeah, you're right"

I always caused Johannes trouble, but i never did anything to express my gratitude

Nath       : (just meeting him for a bit should be fine, right?) "okay, when will you come?"
Johanes : "i'm going to leave the villa now, so it'll probable be after noon"
Nath     : "okay. call me when you get to the estate, okay? i'll be going out"
Johanes : "okay. see you later"
Nath     : "yeah"

i hung up and sighed

Nath : ( i'll need to talk to JOhanes properly soon)

If we satyed in this lukewarm relationship, Johanes waS the one who would be hurt

Nath : (i love Mike, so i feel really bad for relying on Johanes so often..but i can't lie about my own feelings)

Even if Johanes got mad and we couldn't be friends anymore, there was nothing i could do

Nath : (since choosing Mike means i'm not choosing Johanes
