Mike : (doing this reminds me of when nath had just come to the estate)
Looking at Nath who was so nervous she was shivering in my arms, i ended up smiling without thinking
Nath : "Michael, why are you smiling?"
Mike : "Hm? no, i just remembered something from when you'd just come here"
Nath : "..when i'd just come to the estate? did something funny happen then?"
Mike : "you don't remember? a little after you came to the estate, i was in the hall.."
Nath : "ah.. perhaps.."
Mike : "you were interesting back then.."
Nath : "d-don't make fun of me!"
One night, a few days after we had become siblings
Mike : (i heard that i was going to get a little sister, but i didn't think she'd be so strong-willed..)
while i was lying in bed, i thought about my sister, who just wouldn't accept me as a big brother
Mike : (eventhough i had been happy when i heard that the woman who would be my new step-mother
was beautiful and i would be getting a younger sister)
Once i saw Nath's behaviour, i knew that i was the only one who'd been thinking that way

i heard sobbing from the hall, so i sat up
Mike : (what was that? i felt like i heard something just now, but.. was it just my imagination?)

it was so quite that i couldn't hear it if i didn't strain my ears, but there was definitely someone crying in the hall

i looked at the clock in my room. it was a little past midnight

when i opened the door while feeling a little nervous
Mike : "...why are you crying?"
The person sobbing in the hall was my new sister, Nath
Nath : "i-i'm not..Go away!"
Mike : "yes you are. why are in the hall at a time like this?"
Nath : "..."
Mike : "Did you get lost and forget where your room was?"
Nath : "T-that's not it! don't come over here..!"
She was throwing abusive language at me while tears welled up in her eyes

I left Nath crying in the hall and went back to my room
Mike : "Hm. i was going to be a good older brother and help her too. what the hell was with that attitude!"
Right after we first met, i did whatever i could to try to get along with her. However, i ended up tired because she always had that attitude towards me

I heard the sound of stifled sobs from the hall again

Mike : "just go into the room for now, okay?"
i pushed Nath, who sounded like she would start sobbing loudly at any moment, into my room
Mike : "come on, drink this and calm down"
i handed over a cup of black tea to Nath, who accepted it silently with reddened eyes
Mike : "hey, why were you crying in a place like that?"
Nath : "..."
Mike : "it's already past midnight, so i don'y think you had a reason to leave your room"

Mike : "ah, could it be you were hungry? if that's the case, i'll go get you something"
Nath replied to my words by shaking her head
Mike : (it's just been me talking..since i've never had a little sister before, i don't know how to react..)
i was thinking as hard as i could about how to get out of this situation
Nath : "..a ghost.."
Mike : "eh?"
Holding the cup in her two hands, Nath said that in a small voice while looking down
Mike : "a ghost? a ghost came out?"
Nath : "..the room's too big.. and the pictures decorating the room looked like it was glaring at me
so i was scared. whenever i hear a sound, i think there's someone there.."

Nath : "i always slept in the same room as mother up until now..
being in a large room like that by myself is scary..
so i thought i would go find mother, but the estate is too large so i couldn't..
plus the hall is dark.. i didn't know what to do.."

Mike : "sleep in this room tonight"

Mike : "you can't sleep by yourself because you're scared, right?! i'll be here, so sleep"

Mike : "i held your hand while i sat by the side of your bed util you fell asleep"
i clasped Nath's hand, just as i had back then
Nath : "d-dont remember such embarassing things for so long.."
Mike : "i can't forget it. Since after that you came to rely on me"
Nath : "b-but if you say that..

Mike : "me?"
Nath : "about a year or so after i started living in the estate..

when Nath started calling me Big Brother and treating me kindly, i had been happy too. even though i should have thought of her as my precious little sister. I started to have feelings for Nath that went beyond that.
Mike : (i got all worked up everytime Nath brough any male friends from school )

Nath :"ah, Big Brother! you're already home?"
Mike : "ah, more importanly, this is..?"
Male friend : "it's nice to meet you. i always hear about you from Nath

Nath : "then shall we go to my room?"
Mike : "..your room?"
Nath : "yeah, he said there were some points in math class today that
he didn't undersatnd so i said i'd teach him.."
Mike : "if it's for studying, i'll teach him"
Nath : "but the way you teach is hard"
Mike : "you've probably forgotten that you're going out this evening"
Nath : "ah! w-was that so..."
Mike : "sorry, get my sister to teach you some other time"
Male friend : "n-no.. i-i think i'm not good enough, so.."
Maybe it was because of my glare, but he looked away. After saying something to Nath, he hurriedly left the estate

Mike : "what did he say to you before he left?"
Nath : "your brother is scary, he kept on glaring me.. that's what he said"

Nath : "what made you go to new york?"

Nath : "didn't you say before that i was the reason you went to new york?

that was when nath had just turned 17. While i was dating Amelia, i realized that i was attracted to Nath
Mike : (i tried so hard to love Amelia so that i would be able to erase my feeling for Nath)
i hid how i felt for Nath as something that would never be fulfilled and resolutely got engaged so taht i wouldn't have any lingering feeling

i ended up treating Nath coldly. That was ever since i noticed i was attracted to Nath
Nath : "jeez, you can hear me so don't ignore me!"

Nath : "um, i want you help me with studying.."
Mike : "i don't have that much free time. Ask Robert and get a tutor"

To distract myself from the anger and thoughts that i had no refuge from, i slammed my hand against the tables. the reason i decided to go New York was an event a few days after that

I heard from Robert that Nath had a high fever from being out in the rain, so i rushed back to the estated
Robert : "sir, please try to keep quiet as the madam is sleeping"
Mike : "o-okay.. how's Nath's condition?"
robert : "she is fine. the doctor said that she will recover after a few days of rest"
Mike : "..i see. i'm glad. i'll watch over her for a while so you can return to work"

Nath : "..b-big brother..?"
Mike : "Nath, are you awake? How do you feel?"
Nath : "..."
Maybe Nath wasn't fully awake yet, but she just looked at me while blinking incessantly
Mike : (is she still half-a sleep?)
Nath : "..it is Big Brother. I'm happy.."

Faced with that softly smiling faces, i felt the chains of reason that i had been so desperately holding on to crumble
nath : "you've been so cold to me recently so i thought you hated me"

Nath : "i mean, big brother would never say that sort of thing to me..this has to be a dream"
While she muttered that, Nath's eyes closed again

At the time, i had an awful thought. Whatever i did then could be written off as a dream. Maybe it was because i had been so close to those thoughts for so long, but i couldn't win against that evil temptation. i lightly kissed Nath, who had fallen asleep again
Mike : (her lips are so soft..)
After tasting them once, i wanted more
Nath : "..mm, big Brother.."
Mike : (w-what..did i just do? Nath's my little sister!)
i came to my senses again after hearing Nath's voice and crouched there with my head in my hands

After that, i contacted Dad and asked him to advance with my transfer to New York

Mike : "i won't tell you"
Nath : "eh! what is taht-what's wrong with telling me~"
Nath said that with puffed out cheeks, sounding displeased, but i couldn't tell her
Mike : "Nath"
i turned to face Nath and tightly embraced her
Mike : "i love you Nath. up until now, and from now on too.."
Nath : "..! t-that's not fair.. i can't ask you anything now"
Nath muttered that with her red face hidden
Mike : "hey, let's kiss"
Nath : "um, er.."
Mike : "it's fine, right? we're lovers"
Nath : "o-o-okay.."
Ater getting Nath's consent, i lightly kissed her just as i had done back then. However, i didn't feel the same guilt that had made my chest feel tight back then. i only felt the utmost satisfaction
Mike : (i can think of all our troubles up until now as trials to get me to this moment)
Because i had been troubled back then, i could feel the happiness of embracing Nath now
