Nath : (when will he come? He didn't say anything except before noon yesterday on the phone..)

Even though i had been ready for an hour already, the essential person, Johanes, hadn't come yet

Nath : (..it wouldn't be unexpected if he can't make it because something came up. He isn't completely healed)

Just as i was deciding whether to call Johanes, there was the sound of a car from outside the entrance

Johanes : "hey, sorry i'm late"

Nath      : "i don't really mind... are you okay?"

Johanes : "what do you mean, okay?"

Nath      : "doesn't the wound on your back still hurt? i thought maybe that was the reason you were late 

                today.."

Johanes : "i'm fine! you worry too much"

Nath     : "it's because you're rarely late, Johanes"

Johanes : "it's still before noon, so i'm not really late, right?"

Nath     : "That's true, but..are you really okay? if you don't feel up to it, we could go another day..."

Johanes : "today is fine"

The smile disappeared from Johanes's face

Nath     : "..Johanes?"

Johanes : "..i came here after preparing myself today, so it'd bother me if we pushed the date back"

Nath     : "..."

Johanes : "and the reason i'm late isn't because of my wound or anything like that-i just met some unexpected

               difficulties"

Nath      : "unexpected difficulties?"

Johanes : "...well, you get to look forward to that"

i'm a little anxious

okay, i'm looking forward to it (+50)

you're not thinking of something stupid, are you?

Nath      : "okay, i'm looking forward to it"

Johanes : "...."

Nath     : "johanes?"

Johanes : "no, i just didn't think you'd accept what i said without any doubt"

Nath     : "you get carried away easily and are and idiot at times, but you know the time and place for that 

               the sort of thing.. or so i want to believe"

Johanes : "you want to believe? so you're saying it's just a wish? hey, Froget about that. Would you let 

                me decide what to do on our date?"

Nath      : "w-when you say date.."

Johanes : "don't worry about that. So? will you let me decide? will you not? which?"

Nath     : "y-you ca decide"

Johanes : "thanks! well, i'm hungry, so let's grab a bite to eat"

Nath : "..Johanes, this is.."

Johanes had brought me to a restaurant that was all booked with reservations for over a year

Johanes : "do you remember?"

Nath     : "i remember, you took me here on our first date"

Johanes : "that's right. i was so sure that you would be happy if i brought you here. but you looked so

                bored as you ate the courses"

Nath      : "..i did?"

Johanes : "in the end, you said something like 'i didn't want to eat a full course meal for lunch' i laughed then , 

               but it was actually a shock, you know?"

Nath       : "i-i don't remember, sorry.."

woman1 :"hey, isn't she the daughter of the Jones family?"

Nath      : (eh?)

when i turned around, i noticed that we were being watched by a couple of women wearing beautiful clothes at a table a little bit away from us

woman 2  : she's with the son of BYC. I saw them before at a party too"

Woman 1 : "even though a lot of employees are out in the cold because of her older brother. it must be nice 

                  to enjoy a fancy lunch with a man despite that"

Nath        : "..."

Though there wasn't anything i could do about their words, hearing them still made me depressed

Nath      : (its not like Mike just made the decision simply either..)

Johanes : "Let's get out of here, Nath"

suddenly, Johanes got up from his seat and pulled at my arm to take us outside

Nath     : "b-but.. you went out of your way to bring me here, Johaness.."

Johanes : "it's fine, so hurry up"

Nath     : "wait, don't pull at my arm.."

Instead of heading for the entrace, johanes walked towards the women who had been talking, 

woman 1 : oh, do you need something?"

Johanes   : "you know, i don't really like getting mad at women"

Johanes was smilling widely. Then, he spilled the champagne that was on the table on the women

women 2 : "eek!"

woman 1 : "what are you doing?!"

Johanes : "don't shoot your mouth off about things you don't know anything about"

Nath     : "..Johanes"

Woman 1 : " who do you think i am!?"

Johanes : "i don't know any women who yell hysterically, and i don't want to know them either"

Woman 2 : "you'll be in trouble fro doing something like this to us.."

Johanes : "why don't you think about your own position too? if this guy gets mad at you, what do you think 

               will happen to your company?"

Woman :"..!"

Johanes : "no matter what people are saying about them now, The Jones are still the Jones. I don't know 

               your company, but they still have enough power left to crush it easily, you know?"

woman 1 : ".."

Johanes : "your words just make you sound jealous"

Johanes : "dammit!why did lunch turn from a high-class retaurant into bread from the convinience stor!"

Johanes shouted that angrily while biting into his melon bread

Nath      : "..johanes, i'm happy you stuck up for me, but by doing that, your own position.."

Johanes : "don't worry about me. at any rate.."

Nath      : "eh?"

Johanes : "no, never mind. More importantly, want to go shopping next?i'll buy you anything"

Nath      : "o-okay"

johanes : "you're not greedy at all. i think it'd be fine if you were a bit more selfish though?"

Nath     : "..i'm selfish enough. i couldn't be more selfish.."

johanes : "if that's the case, i'll take you where you want to go"

Johanes : "even though i said i'd take you where you want to go, you chose the zoo?"

Nath     : "it's cute, right?"

Johanes : "...the animal stink"

Nath      : "hey johanes! there should be a baby tiger over there!"

Johanes : "let's go look"

Johanes suddenly stopped and looked at the caged animals

Nath     : "johanes?"

Johanes : "that looks like your brother"

Nath      : "eh? which.. hey, that's awful!"

Johanes : "but it's just liek him right? it looks just like how him when he furrow his eyebrows"

Johaness was pointing at the cage of gorillas

Nath     : (it's awful of him to say that Mike is like a gorilla because he doesn't like him...)you're such an idiot

              , johanes"

Johanes : "and you're that one-look"

Nath      : "..! how could you say a girl looks like a chimpanzee?!"

Johanes : "oh, your face right now looks just like it"

Nath     : "johanes!"

Nath : "i'm not happy"

in the car on the way back from the zoo, i complained with a pout as i hugged a plush monkey. Johanes bought the large plush animal in my arms, saying it was a commemoration of our trip to the zoo

Nath      : (even though there were cute plush animals like tigers and bunnies...why did he choose the least 

                cute monkey!?)

Johanes : "ah, plus i have one more thing to give you"

Johanes stopped the car and held out his hand towards the back seat

Nath     : "..its going to be something like a monkey strap or key holder, isn't it"

Johanes : "it's much better than that"

Nath      : "eh.."

while blushing, johanes handed over a picture of me

Nath      : (its a different size from the one he showed me before, so it should be a new drawing, right?)

Johanes : "the reason i was late picking you up today was because i was doing the final touches on that 

                picture"

Nath     : "b-but why are you giving this to me..?"

Johanes : "i want you to have it as a sign that i loved you. i know that saying something like this now is just 

               going to trouble you, but will you listen?"

Nath      : "o-okay..."

Johanes : "..you were my first love"

Nath     : "eh"

Johanes : "i'd played around with alot of women, but you were the first one i really thought that i loved from

               my heart. when i saw you feeling guilty abot my injury from protecting you..i thought that i might be 

               able to get you back with as my opportunity"

Nath      : "..."

Johanes : "i had planned to get over you, but..but i just couldn't. but you just came to my hospital room 

               everyday with that sad smile, and you wouldn't show me the smile that i loved. i noticed when i 

               sent you away..i can't make you smile any longer. the one who can make you smile isn't me, but.."

Johanes had his hands clenched tightly as he continued to speak in a trembling voice

Johanes : "hey, Nath"

Nath     : "...hm?"

Johanes : "you like that guy, right?"

Nath     : "... yeah"

Johanes : "if you're with him, you'll be able to be happy right? you'll always be able to smile, right...?"

Nath     : "..yeah"

johanes : "i see. thanks"

Nath     : "eh?"

Johanes : "i wanted to hear that from you. then i can freely.."

Nath     : "johanes..?"

johanes : "no, it's nothing. A lot of things have happened because of the fuss with restructuring, but just be 

               patient, since i think it'll end soon"

Nath     : "..johanes? what are you going on about?"

Johanes : "so, after all this is finished, be happy with him"

Nath     : "johanes..."

Johanes had always been kind to me. Even now, he had said the words that i was supposed to say for me

Nath     : (johanes, i'm sorry..)

johanes : "don't cry. i don't want to see you cry"

Nath     : "johanes..?"

The next moment, johanes tightly embraced me

Nath : "h-hey! johanes!"

johanes : "sorry. but this is the last time, so.."

i felt johanes lips brush my cheeks and the warmth i felt was sad

Johanes : "i'd decided to at least kiss you on the lips for the last time, but in the end, i can't do it"

Nath     : "johanes.."

johanes : "want to head back? that guy'll probably get mad if we stay out too late"

Nath     : "..yeah. thank you for today"

johanes : "no. i'm the one who should thank you"

Nath     : "eh?"

Johanes : "thank you for everything up until now"

Nath     : (what's up with johanes? he's acting a bit strange...)

He spoke like we would never meet again, which gave me a bad feeling
