Johanes : "sorry about yesterday"

The next morning, i went to Johanes room while curbing my feeling of awkwardness. Unexpectedly, Johanes greeted me brightly

Johanes : "Being stuck in a hospital for over a month just isn't good for my mental health"

Nath      : "hey, Johanes.."

Johanes : "Hm? ah, are you mad about yesterday?"

Nath      : "eh? n-no, that's not it.."

Johanes : "oh? then i'm glad. I was worried about what to do if you were mad that i couldn't sleep last night"

Nath      : "..though it looked like you were sleeping pretty soundly when i came?"

Johanes: "ah, i just meant that that was how much i was worried. I actually slept like a log!"

Nath     : "hm, more importantly, i have something to talk to.."

Johanes : "that remind me-i told you, right?"

Johanes cutting me off like he had suddely remembered something

Nath      : "eh? what did you tell me?"

Johanes : "that i'll be let out of the hospital the day after tomorrow"

Nath     : "eh! already?! but it's only been a month since you were hospitalized.."

Johanes : "it's already been a month since i was hospitalized, so it's more than enough. I really am so bored

               i could die!"

Nath    : (it's not like i don't understand, since i was bored just from a week of staying at the villa, but..) 

              but the doctor permitted it then"

johanes : "that's because i paid him enough money that he wouldn't be able to complain about it"

nath      : "... you really should stay in the hospital until you're fully healed"

Johanes : "what? everything's already been decided, so there's nothing to be done"

Nath      : "but once you go home, you won't treat your injury properly, since it's you, Johanes"

Johanes : "it's fine. I'll call a doctor to the house once a day to treat my injury for me"

Nath      : "you're selfish as usual. i can understand why your father is worried"

Johanes : "well, isn't it the job of parent to worry about their child?"

Nath      : "..your father worries more than most"

Johanes : "maybe. but you don't have to look so worried. since i'm really fine. Plus you'll just be concerned 

                if i stay longer in the hospital"

Nath      : "...um,. Johanes, today i had something to talk to you about.."

Johanes : "ah, right! will you celebrate with me?"

Nath     : "..."

It definitely wasn't my imagination.

Nath : (when i try to talk, Johanes forcibly tries to change the subject..)

It felt like he knew what i wanted to say

Nath     : (what should i do? how should i broach the topic..?)

Johanes : "hey"

Johanes stratched at his head a bit uncomfortably as he spoke in a quiet voice. 

Johanes : "i don't plan to demant that you do it or anything, but seriously, would you celebrate with me?"

Nath      : "s-sure. i don't mind as long as it's something i can do.."

Johanes : "..i'd like it if you could make time to go out with me for just one day"

Nath      : "eh?"

Johanes : "i don't have any hidden intentions, all right? i just want you to amke time to enjoy normally with

                me, just eating out together and going shopping. i'll listen properly to what you have to say then, 

               so.. i want you to wait until then to tell me"

Nath     : "johanes.."

johanes : "and that's the end of that! come on, if you don't hurry up and go home, that guy'll worry, right?

               i'll contact you about the date and time. you don't have to come visit me before then, so don't 

              contact me either"

Nath      : "..."

Johanes : "sorry about just doing things my way as usual, but i think this will probably be the last"

Nath     : "johanes.."

Johanes : "it should be fine since there's security and all, but be careful on the way home, all right?"

Nath      : "..okay. see you later. i'll be waiting for you to contact me.."

Johanes : "got it. i think i'll be able to contact you within a week so think about about where you want to go"

Nath     : "got it"

Johanes always smiled brightly, but today, his smile was awkward

Nath          : (he must have said that while holding back a lot of things..)

Announcer : "breaking news"

The radio was on in the car. The program that was playing suddenly switched over to a news broadcast

Announcer : "Mr. Michael Jones, the CEO of the Jones group, announced that he would carry out the 

                    restructuring of 5000 people today at noon"

Nath          : (eh, Mike did..?)

*ringtone*

Nath    : ( eh? it's rare for Robert to call) "hello"

Robert : "is this the madam speaking? i apologize for calling so suddenly"

Nath    : "no, please don't worry about it. Did anything happen..?"

Robert : "sir fainted earlier"

Nath     : "eh! M-mike fainted...!?"

Robert : "i was told to let you know.."

Nath    : "thank you for telling me. Where is Mike now!?"

Robert : "as there is a commotion outside, he could not go to the hospital and returned to the estate. 

             A doctor came earlier as well. As the situation has calmed down, i contacted you"

Nath    : "okay. i'll come back right away"

Robert : "understood"

Nath    : ( i can't believe Mike fainted..)

Guard : "it appears that sir has not even been able to sleep recently"

Nath   : "eh?"

The guard sitting next to me started next to me started speaking seriously

Nath   : "..is it because of the restructuring problem?"

Nath   : (..didn't Mike realize i would just be more worried if i found out like this without knowing 

             beforehand?)

I didn't notice that Mike had been suffering. I was angry at myself for only thinking about what was happening to me

Nath : (no, if i had tried to notice, i would've..it's just that i didn't try)

even though i was the one who knew best how much burden the restructuring problem was putting on Mike

Robert : "welcome back, madam"

when i went into the foyer, Robert greeted me with a resoectful nod

Nath    : "um, Mike..?"

Robert : "He is currently taking his medicine and resting in his room"

Nath    : "i see.."

Robert : "..."

Nath    : ( what i really want is to be by Mike's side, but his condition isn't good, so i shouldn't bother him...)

Robert : "madam"

Nath    : "y-yes?"

Robert : "we still have much work left to be done"

Nath     : "oh.."

Robert : "accordingly, would you allwo me to leave taking care of sir to you?"

Nath    : "robert.."

Robert : "i apologize for asking you to do such a thing, madam, when i should be the one serving you.."

Robert was an excellent butler. Father, MOther and mike all recognized that. There was no way that Robert would tell me to take care of Mike because he was too busy

Nath    : (he must be deliberately making it easier for me to go to see Mike..)

Robert : "madam?"

Nath    : "..yes! please leave Mike to me!"

Robert : "thank you very much"

Robert : "yes?"

Robert replied with a smile, then i headed towards Mike's room

Mike : "..."

Mike was sleeping on his bed and breathing quietly. he looked a little.. no, he looked considerably worn out

Nath : (why didn't i notice until Mike unded up like this..)

even though he was so tired, Mike had worried about me and took me a drive yesterday for a change of pace..

Nath : "i'm sorry.. Mike.."

I grasped Mike's hand tightly and apologized again and again as tears rolled down my cheeks

Mike : "..nath?"

Nath : "did i wake you up...? sorry about that"

Mike : "why are.. you here? you weren't here when i came back.."

Nath : "Robert contacted me saying you had fainted"

Mike : "damn, even though i strictly warned him not to say anything to you.."

Nath : "why would you say that?"

Mike : "nath?"
Nath : "i hate being the only one who doesn't know when you're suffering.. even though all i think about is myself, you worry about me even you're having a difficult time yourself..then i'm not doing anything back for you, Mike..."

i felt so miserable and sorry that tears just kept pouring out, like they didn't know how to stop

Mike : "..i'm sorry, i didn't say anything"

Mike pat my head awkwardly

Nath : "i'm..sorry too"
Mike : "it's not your fault Nath, you don't have to apologize"
Nath : "..Mike"
Mike : "i'll tell you first if anything happens from now on"
Nath : "..okay"
Mike : "then? you went to see the idiot, right?"
Nath : "yes, but..."

Mike : "Make time for him for one day? He's not a guy who'll stumble easily.."
Nath : "but he said he'd listen to what i have to say properly then"
Mike : "he still might not listen"
Nath : "..it's fine. I believe in what Johanes said"
Mike : "..."
Nath : "Forget about me. Mike, get some proper rest. I heard that you haven't been sleeping recently"
Mike : "well, i think the reason i slept earlier was because of the medicine.."
Nath : "...i wish there were something i could do for you, Mike"

I felt irritated with myself since i couldn't do anything

Mike : "i said this before, right? if you're by my side, i don't need anything else"
Nath : "..Mike"
Mike : "so.."
Nath : "eek!"

Mike pulled my hand forcefully so i fell onto the bed

Nath : "w-wait, Mike..."
Mike : "stay with me, i feel like i'll be able to sleep if you're here"
Nath : "Mike..."

Mike started sleeping while embracing me

Nath : (it's a bit tough being embraced like this in these clothes and in this position, but...)

When i looked at Mike, who had started sleeping again, i didn't care about those things at all
