Forbidden Love : Mike 2nd story

Mike : "Nath, do you have some time?"

i was reading a book in my room when Mike came in, looking tired out

Nath : "what's wrong? you look pale, are you tire..?"

Mike : "no, that's not it.."

Nath : "but you look pale, what will you do if faint again like you did before?"

Mike : "..the reason i look pale is because my stomach hurts when i think about where i have to go next"

Nath : "when you say where you have to go next..."

Mike : "i got a phone call early this morning, and now i have to go to Los Angeles"

Nath : "..by Los Angeles, does that mean you're going to your grandmother's?"

Mike : "yeah. She didn't say why, but it's probably related to the commotion that's been broadcast on TV lately"

Mike muttered that after sighing deeply

Nath : "as expected, your grandmother's still scarry even though you've become the group's CEO?

Mike : "she is. She has always been strict on others, relatives and of course herself as well. when i was still a kid, she made me cry just with her words so many times.."

Nath : (somehow, i feel like i understand)

Mike was the son who was supposed to be the heir, so people were probably stricker with him than most

Nath : (I remember that when we went to his grandmothers place last, Mike seemed as small as a child)
          do your best, Mike.."

Mike : "why are you  saying it like it's sombody else's problem?"

Nath : "eh?"

Mike : "obviously you're going too"

Nath : "eh!? why am i going too?"

Mike : "by all means, bring Nath along too, so grandmothers said"

Nath : "..i-i wonder if she has something to say to me too"

Mike : "isn't she inviting you  because she has something she want's to say?"

Nath : "urgh..i'm scared.."

When we arrived at the estate, Mike's grandmother was already waiting for us in the wide foyer

Grandmother : "i apologize for making you come from so far away

Mike             : "i apologize for not contacting in so long.. that is.. you said on the phone that you had
                       something to talk to me about"

Grandmother : "shouldn't you know what i wish to talk about, Mike!?"

Mike             : "..is it about the ercent fuss about restructuring?"

Grandmother : "..."

Mike             : "since you did not speak at length, grandmother..i thought that you may have seen
                       a broadcast on television and been surprised.. "

Grandmother :"Mike, what are you saying?"
Mike             : "eh?"

Grandmother : "you are the CEO of Jones Group, which means you are at the top, yes?if Dave has entrusted
                        the entirely of the group to you, i don't have the right to speak up regarding that decision.
                        i also saw on television that a gun was fired at the time of the inauguration ceremony. If that's
                        something that you have decide, Mike. You should advance as you believe you should.
                        However, i simply could not overlook the incident the other day"

Nath              : "the incident the other day..?"

Grandmother : "nath was assaulted at the villa, and then when she was about to be injured, her friend
                       was injured instead"

Nath              : "... " (now that i think about it, bobody told grandmother about the chain of events..)

Grandmother : "Mike, i do not plan to challenge your judgement.. however, are you aware that you have
                       put Nath in danger as a result?"

Mike             : "..."

Nath             : "grandmother, that was..."

Grandmother : "Nath, please keep silent"

Nath              : "..."

I tried to speak up for Mike, but since grandmother cut me down, all i could do was keep my mouth shut

Grandmother : "currently, because dave and linda are both away from the estate, there is  no one to find fault
                       with you, Mike. However, it appears that you cannot come to realization yourself if nobody
                      says anything"

Mike            : "please pardon me for saying so, but.. i plan to understand properly in my own way, Nath
                       was been put in danger and it was my fault.. therefore, i am looking steadily examining the
                      situation in a variety of directions"

Grandmother : "..that the assault on Nath was not the work of  those affected by the restructuring?"

Mike             : "though it is only my intuition.. i do not believe they would do something with as high a risk
                        as assaulting Nath just make me revoke the restructuring"
Grandmother : "..mike, you think that because you are at the top"

Mike             : "eh?"

Grandmother : "no one cannot know what a person will do when driven into a corner, regardless of whether
                       they will look like beasts, people can do anything in order to protect their family and
                       themselves. You only think as you do because you have never been driven to that point"

Mike             : "...grandmother?"

Grandmother : "however, there's a reason to what you are saying, Mike. Did Dave not say anything before
                        he left the estate?"

Mike              : "...."

Mike silently frowned at grandmothers words

Nath             : (Father did say to watch out for uncle sam)

grandmother : "Mike? is the reason you are not speaking up because you were told something that is
                      difficult to say to me?"

Mike             : "...i was told to beware of the vice president, Uncle Sam"

Grandmother : "is that so? Dave said something like that..."

For Grandmother, uncle Sam should have been as important to her as Father. Mike probably didn't want to speak badly of him for that reason..

Grandmother : "However, i also approve of Dave's words"

Mike             : "eh?"

Grandmother : "there are many things about Sam that i don't know, even though am his mother, unlike Dave..
                       Sam has no talent for business. The reason he still attained the position of Vise president is
                       Dave's kindness. However, sam was the one who complained until the very end when Dave
                       was succeeding as president. I don't want to say this, but you truly should beware of Sam"

Mike            : "grandmother..."

grandmother : "that's is all i have to say"

Nath             : "eh? did you not have something to say to me?"

grandmother : "no.. i heard from a servant that Nath had been assaulted and became worried.. i simply
                       wanted to see you. Sorry for asking that of you at such a busy time"

Nath             : "n-no, not at all! you were even worried about me.. thank you very much"

Grandmother : "Mike, Nath, please rely on me if  anything troublesome arises. Though i have been strict on
                       you, you are both my precious grandchild"

Nath             : "..yes! thank you very much grandmother"

Grandmother : "as well, Mike, Please don't forget what i said earlier"

Mike             : "...yes"

Mike : "in the end, i was the only one she told off.."

in the car on the way back, Mike sighed as he lay on the seat in the back

Nath : "I think Grandmother must have been worried about you, but since she's strict, she couldn't say
            staright out that she was worried"

Mike : "maybe. i felt she was at least a little truly mad at me though"

Nath : "she wouldn't get mad at somebody she didn't care about.. i think the reason she really got mad
            was that you're very important to her"

Mike : "well, she's always been an awkward sort of person, like dad"

Nath : "really?"

Mike : "when i cried after being scolded, she would say thing like, 'its disgraceful for a boy to cry', but at the
            same time, she would bring me to town and buy me ice cream. Though at the same time she would
            say it was just because i would also become the head of the jones family.. the ice cream back then
            was really delicious"

I could tell that grandmothers quality of not being entirely honest had been inherited by Mike too, as he spoke so nostalgically about his childhood

Nath : (even though Mike himself cares so much about his grandmother)

Mike : "nath? what are you smiling for?"

Question : 

I just though it was kind of nice (+50)

i want to eat ice cream

Mike you're not honest

Nath : "i just thought it was kind of nice"
Mike : "nice..what was?"

Nath : "your relationship with  your grandmother. i've never had something like that"

Mike : "have you never met your own grandparents?"

Nath : "no.. i might have met them when i was really young, but i don't remmeber them at all. I only have
           my grandmother in los angeles
Mike : "...."
Nath : "but as a child from a previous marriage, i'm not a real grandchild"
Mike: "that doesn't matter. She definitely thinks of you as a precious grandchild"

Mike pat my head and smiled gently

*ringtone*

Nath : (its from Johanes..)
Mike : "..don't you have to answer?"

It seemed like Mike know who was calling from my attitude, and he said that looking a bit displeased

Nath     : "..i do, hello Johanes?"
Johanes : "sorry it took me a while to get back to you! are you free tomorow?"
Nath      : "tomorrow? you're sudden as usual"
Johanes : "ah, you can't make it?"
Nath     : "no, its fine"
johanes : "okay, then i'll pick you up before noon or so"
Nath     : "johanes, will you be fine driving?"
Johanes : "i'll be fine! i'm already healed, you're worrying too much"
Nath      : "..its okay if you're fine, but don't overdo it, okay?"
Johanes : "i know, i know. Then i'll come pick you up tomorrow, so don't sleep in!"
Nath     : "i-i won't. probably.."
Johanes : "i cant trust you if you tack on 'probably' at the end. well, whatever, see you tomorrow!"
Nath      : "okay, see you tomorrow"
Mike     : "his voice is loud as usual"
Nath     : "you heard it?"
Mike     : "i could hear it"
Nath      : "..since i'm going to talk to Johanes tomorow, it might get late"
Mike     : "yeah, i might be late too since i have a briefing tomorrow at the company about the restructuring"
Nath      : "Mike, good luck"
Mike     : "..you too"
Nath     : "yeah (i'm worried about  how awfully bright johanes's voice was, i wonder is something
               happened..)
